New York City’s most innovative, “diversity in tech”-focused training program, Stacks+Joules secured a $250,000 grant from New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) for the expansion of the program to teach IoT, HVAC, lighting control and professional soft skills towards careers in the Energy Efficiency industry. With NYSERDA’s support, Stacks+Joules will expand our program curriculum with training for EPA 608 and Niagara 4 certifications (both Building Automation industry demanded skillsets).

With the ratification of New York City’s Climate Mobilization Act and adoption of New York State’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act, these new laws establish city-wide energy efficiency mandates and State-wide carbon neutrality goals. NYSERDA’s Energy Efficiency Workforce Training grant provides crucial support for organizations like Stacks+Joules that are aligned with developing a diverse workforce necessary to address these aggressive energy efficiency commitments.

We would like to thank our industry and institutional partners who are working with Stacks+Joules to bring young people into the energy efficiency field. Our country’s energy future begins with what we do today. Please join us in making a difference.
